In this tutorial you'll see how I quickly capture a design concept in 3D, based on a series of sketches from our Marker Rendering Course. Inspired by the 80s inspired revival of Dark Synthwave music, this future battery electric Corvette concept captures the super clean, minimalist designs of the era in a fresh and modern way. This is a great example on how to build a model based on 2D theme sketches.
In this continuation of building my '80s Dark Synthwave inspired Corvette model, I delve into the details and wheels. The centerpiece of the design is a giant, 3D printed heat sink pattern that draws air through the bodyside and out the rear diffuser to cool the high performance battery.
Quick spin around the final model of a future all-electric Corvette I built in Gravity Sketch. VR is fantastic for creating immersive environments, and here you'll see how I set up a series of simple shapes to give a sense of depth and atmosphere to a Dark Synthwave world.
