This course introduces the core creative sketching techniques available in Gravity Sketch. You'll be able to quickly brainstorm, discover, and create new concepts and forms directly in 3d, in human scale.

For our first creative exercise, I'll demonstrate early 3D sketch exploration using the Ink Brush. This is the easiest and most intuitive way to get started designing vehicles in Gravity Sketch.
Assignment: 3-5 sketches of futuristic aerial vehicles, using the Gravity Sketch 3D ink brush around a human scale mannequin.
For our next creative exercise, I'll introduce Sub-D modeling to quickly generate a series of speed form studies for a manned areal vehicle. You'll learn the primary tools for creating 3D surfaces, and you'll see how quickly you can generate some interesting shapes and forms.
Assignment: 3-5 sketches of futuristic aerial vehicles, using the Gravity Sketch Sub-D surfaces to create a variety of shapes around around a human scale mannequin.
In this tutorial, I develop a series of supercar form studies using the Volume Brush. Combined with the Sub-D toolset, you can quickly generate amazing shapes and forms. You'll also get a preview on how I use the Revolve tool and Polar Symmetry to build some wheel designs.
Assignment: 3-5 sketches of futuristic vehicles, using the Gravity Sketch 3D Volume Brush around a human scale mannequin.
In this tutorial I'll demonstrate how to sketch over accurate vehicle dimensions using the Rigged Chassis toolset. Combined with a human scale mannequin, you can precisely define the wheelbase, track, wheel and tire size for your vehicle. Based on the needs and desires of your target user, you can set up the right vehicle package for your design concept.
Assignment: 3-5 sketches of futuristic cars, using the Gravity Sketch 3D Ink Brush over a Rigged Chassis and a human scale mannequin. Try adjusting the Rigged Chassis settings and mannequin placement to achieve a variety of vehicle proportions and concepts.
For this exercise you'll learn how to develop Sub-D speed shapes over a Rigged Chassis. This is a great way to explore new shapes and surfaces outside of your normal form vocabulary, while working to a known vehicle package. Explore and discover!
Assignment: 3-5 sketches of futuristic cars, using the Sub-D speed shapes over a Rigged Chassis and a human scale mannequin.
In the next exercise we focus on turning speed shapes into vehicles. Starting with one of my early areal vehicle studies, I'll show you how to quickly block in the wheel arches and major volumes of the body.
Assignment: Take your best 3D sketch, and develop a complete vehicle design using all of the tools you've learned in the course!
